Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative

Teachers from Cherokee and the Guntersville Middle school went to school this past summer for two weeks to learn more about teaching math and science.  The Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) trains teachers in schools that apply to become AMSTI certified.  Teachers are provided with in-depth professional development, resources, and on site visits.  Based on the Alabama State Course of Study, the AMSTI instructional model deepens the science and mathematical thinking and knowledge of students so that they can be successful in higher mathematics and in the workforce.  Students have the opportunity to participate in experienced investigations, and discussions.  Look for more AMSTI information from students.
